TURNAROUND & PROJECT PLANNING, SCHEDULING AND EXECUTION

Whether it is a small compressor station outage or a major turnaround on a bcf/day giant, it is critical that the work is managed efficiently, safely, with high quality and low environmental impact and is done and documented right the first time. Starting with $100,000 turnarounds Viper has grown its program and business to accommodate $30 Million + turnarounds and expansions. We have a refined 4 phase turnaround program that consistently displays excellence in safety, quality, productivity, budget and schedule compliance. We continue to refine and streamline our turnaround processes and work closely with our clients to continue raising the bar. Our dedicated Project Management team is capable of 1000+ work order turnarounds, managing 300+ on site employees, all while maintaining our budget commitments to our client. Plant turnarounds present the highest risk to operators of any project, it pays to plan them properly to ensure the risks are mitigated. Let us show you how Viper can look after this for you with our proven program.

PIPING FABRICATION

Whether it is prefabricated spools, tie-ins or replacements in kind, it is critical that piping spools are built efficiently, safely, with high quality and fit the first time. Viper welders maintain B pressure certificates and current qualification to Viper’s ASME and CSA registered stainless and carbon steel weld procedures for pressure piping. Our certified and experienced pipefitters are also key to ensuring our spools are built to fit. We can provide fabrication, PWHT, NDE, hydro testing and coating services on site or in one of our fabrication yards and safely transport the spools to site. Viper works closely with different regulatory bodies including BCSA, ABSA and BCOGC to ensure the highest levels of compliance. It is also required that all of our Tradespeople, Project Managers and Inspectors have received comprehensive QC orientation, training and mentoring which ensures our capability to work on jobs anywhere from 50 to 50,000 weld inches required.

STRUCTURAL WELDING

Viper has educated and experienced trades people capable of performing jobs from 50 to 500,000+ pounds. From prefabricated CSA certified building skids, to pilings, to module builds, it is critical that all structural components are built efficiently, safely, with high quality and fit the first time. Viper works with clients and engineering firms to provide a quality product, every time. Our welders have broad experience in the industry to go with their CWB certifications. All of our structural welding is completed in compliance with the codes and regulations and is audited regularly by our in house CWB engineer as well as CWB inspectors.

VESSEL REPAIRS AND ALTERATIONS

Our team has the necessary skills to work on projects from small nozzle repair and damaged trays, to a major repair on a severely corroded 14 ft diameter amine regeneration tower at TMin. We know that it is critical for all vessel work to be completed efficiently, safely, with high quality and documented right the first time. Currently Viper is one of the only contractors with the experience as well as necessary BCSA and ABSA certifications to perform vessel repairs in NEBC and NEAB. We have extensive experience in this field and have our own registered ASME weld procedures which our confined space certified welders are tested to and experienced with. We can install lap or flush patches, do weld metal build up, repair or replace damaged tower components such as trays and demisters, repair metalizing coating plus much more all while working in compliance to codes, specs and regulations. All vessel repairs and alterations are overseen by certified welding inspectors and when required, mechanical engineers.

INSULATION, SHEET METAL & HEAT TRACING

Viper has a qualified team, capable of executing an array of industrial insulation projects. Our 30+ years of experience in this field will ensure that a quality job is completed, within budget and on schedule. We are accomplished in large or small piping and vessel insulation, utilidor buildings and installing heat tracing. Our insulation processes will increase thermal efficiency and protect your assets from the extreme weather that many facilities face.

FACILITY CONSTRUCTION & EXPANSION

Viper has completed many plant expansions, starting from small $30,000 projects to our largest project of $30 million+ in Fall 2015. This expansion required our turnaround program be expanded in great detail when we saw our project demand expand 10x, with over 20,000 weld inches required. Due to our refined processes we were able to meet this demand safely within the allotted timeframe and budget, once all change orders and additional work orders were completed. This was just one more example of Viper’s capabilities to complete any variety of facility work, safely, efficiently, and with exemplary quality.

LEAD & ASBESTOS ABATEMENT

As an endeavour to stay innovative in the marketplace, in addition to performing asbestos abatement we have recently become the only company in NEBC and NEAB certified in lead abatement. Our program was built by working with mentors and WorksafeBC, to ensure we are implementing the best possible practices in this hazardous field. We apply these practices for specific lead or asbestos removal projects, on found work during turnaround or expansion, and quite often during demolition.

DEMOLITION

Viper has completed numerous demolition projects from small piping and vessel removals up to and including the demolition of a complete 120 mmscfd gas processing plant. Safety, environmental protection, equipment prep for resale or deregistration and safe recycling of demolished equipment is paramount to a successful demolition project. Our lead and asbestos abatement specialization, solid safety program and attention to detail ensure the safety of all of those involved as well as the satisfaction of meeting our client’s expectations.
